UDOT design team named for 61-mile USDOT RAISE trail corridor; Bluff River Trail recognized nationally

Luanne Hook presented an update from the Active Transportation Working Group on a USDOT RAISE grant awarded to UDOT for regional trail planning. The design and planning contract was awarded to Kimley‑Horn in partnership with Bike Utah to work on a 61-mile corridor including Bluff–Montezuma Creek, Bluff–Monument Valley and planning for Bluff–Spanish Valley/Moab.
Hook also reported the Bluff River Trail has been designated a National Recreation Trail — one of only five so designated nationwide — and described openings on the town's Active Transportation Committee. The committee will help coordinate with engineers and stakeholders on next steps; Spencer Wade will serve as the town liaison and the committee has two public openings for which residents may apply.
