The resolution, offered by Trustee Laura Zervic and supported by Secretary Mini Paulose-Murphy, directs that internal applications be submitted no later than March 23, 2026 and appoints Board President Carole Mendez, Trustee Desiree LaDuke and Trustee Laura Zervic to the review committee. The board reserved the right to seek external candidates after the internal window closes or after interviews. According to the formal resolution, the superintendent — in consultation with the Board president — is authorized to post an internal job announcement that may list preferred qualifications.
Board President Carole Mendez said the board wants to give priority consideration to internal candidates while preserving flexibility to recruit externally if necessary. The resolution record lists AYES: LaDuke, Paulose-Murphy, Keene, Mendez, Zervic and Scott-Rhodes; ABSENT: McCann. The board will proceed with internal screening and decide next steps based on candidate responses.
