Administrator Rindy told the board that, "with the unfortunate passing of Chuck Cook, who was serving on the RDA, we do have a current vacancy on the board." Rindy said the mayor has been recommended to appoint Jordan Norby, the Main Street director, but the board is welcome to suggest alternatives and the appointment could occur at the council meeting following further outreach.
Members suggested considering a Habitat for Humanity representative or someone with development experience. Rindy said members could submit names to the mayor or to Rindy and Clerk Wald and that the appointment could be tied into April committee appointments if members needed additional time. No formal appointment was made during the meeting; staff indicated a potential timeline for interviews and an appointment at a future council meeting.
