Novi students place nationally in Science Olympiad; Christine Stricker named Support Person of the Year

Novi’s Science Olympiad team finished 13th nationally with multiple event placements and scholarship winners; the board also recognized Christine Stricker as the district’s 2025 Outstanding Support Person of the Year.
The Novi Science Olympiad team competed at the national tournament May 24 at the University of Nebraska and placed in five events, finishing 13th overall. The team recorded a national championship in Robot Tour (Wenhan Xu, Ethan Chen), who each received $1,000 scholarships to a college of their choice. Other top finishes included fourth in Air Trajectory and Write It Do It, fifth in Wind Power and sixth in Fossils.
At the June 12 board meeting Dr. Laura Carino introduced Christine Stricker as the 2025 Novi Outstanding Support Person of the Year in recognition of her dedication to students; the honor was presented following peer nominations and administrative recommendations.
