Turf installed at baseball and softball fields; softball project out to bid

Board heard that artificial turf work is complete at both fields and that remaining installations (backstops, irrigation, sod, fencing, dugouts) are underway. The softball project—funded by a state grant with ADA features—received two bids and is under review; NBARA will meet to award the bid.
Superintendent Adam Bowen reported that artificial turf installation at both baseball and softball fields is complete. He said remaining work includes backstop netting, padded wall systems, irrigation and sod at the baseball field, plus attachment of fencing to completed poles. Building Trades students will construct the baseball dugouts as part of the finishing work.
Bowen added that the softball field project—funded through a state grant and designed to include pathways, ADA-compliant access, dugouts and bleachers—was recently put out to bid. Two bids were received and are currently under review; NBARA is scheduled to meet Thursday with the goal of awarding that bid.
