Summary
The Novi Community School District board voted unanimously June 12 to adopt ballot language requesting voter approval of a $425,000,000 bond on Nov. 4, 2025, saying the plan will not raise the district's millage above the current 18.0 mills.

The Novi Community School District Board of Education voted unanimously June 12 to adopt a ratifying resolution and ballot language asking voters to approve a $425,000,000 bond proposal on Nov. 4, 2025.
Board members said the bond, developed after months of committee meetings and public town halls, is intended to fund facility and program improvements across the district. Superintendent Ben Mainka told the board the committees reviewed ways to “improve/expand our facilities and programs to optimize the school day experience,” and recommended placing the measure before voters.
Board materials state the bond would be presented as a request at the general election and, according to the presentation, would “result in no tax increase for our community.” The board certified the district’s millage at 18.0 mills for 2025‑26 earlier in the meeting; the taxable value used for budget calculations was stated as $3,300,519,820.
The resolution was moved by Mr. Michener and supported by Mrs. Beaudoin and carried by a 6‑0 vote. The district now will proceed with the ballot language and related outreach ahead of the November election.
