Assistant Superintendent for Finance and Operations Julie Davis told the Curriculum Committee on Dec. 11 that the Finance Committee reviewed November financial statements and provided a bond construction update.
Davis outlined five items the Finance Committee plans to bring to the full Board for action: summer mechanical updates at Collins Elementary, Pine Ridge Elementary and Goodwillie Environmental Science; summer paving at Central Middle School and Pine Ridge Elementary; replacement of band uniforms at Eastern High School to be paid one-third by the district, one-third by the school and one-third by the EHS boosters; a request for authorization to sell bonds (with staff anticipating an April or May sale to seek favorable rates); and permission to join a social media lawsuit. Member Malorie Ninemeier asked whether the district would wait for good rates before proceeding with bonds.
The items were presented as recommendations for the Board’s Monday meeting; the Committee referred them for Board consideration rather than taking final action at the Curriculum Committee meeting.
