District hears aquatic center design; firm says project 'almost halfway through the design phase'

Forest Hills Public Schools committee members heard a presentation on Nov. 13, 2024, about plans for a new aquatic center at the north end of the Fine Arts Center parking lot. Assistant Superintendent for Finance and Operations Julie Davis said TowerPinkster "are almost halfway through the design phase," and shared internal and external visual plans shown to the committee.
The proposed facility would include a warm-water pool for lessons, a 50-meter pool suitable for practice and competition, 1- and 3-meter diving boards and meeting space. Davis listed the center’s intended capabilities, saying the design aims to include "the needed elements to be able to host regional and state competitions." The presentation came as part of the Finance update and was framed alongside other board-level items including bond updates and upcoming action items related to building projects and district operations.
