Julie Nielsen reviewed fall operational items and community outreach, including school improvement planning retreats, a district safety day, staff return on Aug. 24, and two construction tours for board members and officials to view district facilities under renovation.
"We are doing construction tours with city officials, legislators, public safety, school board members ... on August 10 for Cottage Grove and August 18," Nielsen said, noting the tours will show "a look at the investment of $200,000,000 in our school district" and improvements like added cafeteria space and safety upgrades.
Nielsen also mentioned community engagement activities (parades and QR code materials) and encouraged board members to participate in outreach opportunities. The board confirmed upcoming business meeting dates on Aug. 20 and Sept. 10.
