Superintendent outlines new form and training to connect schools with Corewell Health on suicide risk assessments

Bowen said Corewell Health conducts about "thirty suicide risk assessments each month for school aged students" and that a new form developed over six months will allow legally appropriate communication between healthcare providers and schools to support students when they return to school. He said countywide training will be led by Dr. Melissa Reeves using the Columbia Protocol.
Bowen characterized the collaboration as an effort to improve continuity of care and help schools better support students following assessments, and he said the district will participate in the rollout and training.
