Commissioner Michael J. Cragun announced during the June 5 meeting that he was not being reappointed and will be leaving the Utah State Tax Commission. Commissioners Rebecca L. Rockwell and Jennifer N. Fresques publicly thanked Commissioner Cragun for his service.
"Commissioner Cragun announced he was not being reappointed and will be leaving the Commission," the minutes state. Executive Director Deanna Herring thanked Commissioner Cragun for his mentorship and advice. Following that exchange, Commissioner Cragun moved that the Commission go into a closed session to discuss pending litigation with counsel; the motion passed unanimously.
The transcript records the announcement, expressions of thanks from colleagues, and the motion to enter a closed session; it does not record further details of the pending litigation (the Commission subsequently authorized closed-session discussion with counsel).
