Heather (S5) gave the director’s report and previewed a package of items staff will bring to council and the commission: Walker Consultants will present recommendations for implementing a staged paid‑parking program that includes improved signage, employee parking and enforcement; the council will get that report before deciding whether to fund the next contract phase.
Heather also summarized a regional effort to produce preapproved ADU plan sets (six total — four licensed plans to be available in February and two custom plans targeted for August) to lower design costs for homeowners. She told commissioners the public hearing on the code amendments is scheduled for Dec. 3 and the council will consider transportation‑map legal recommendations in December; Heather noted one commissioner, Jerry Block, is leaving the commission at the end of his term. “They will be receiving those recommendations and give us the green light to move on with the remaining contract of Walker,” Heather said of the council’s upcoming agenda.
