The board reviewed proposed updates to the Employee Handbook to include required Minnesota Paid Leave information. The updates were presented to the board and administration will seek formal board approval next month.
Superintendent Okerland also explained the district's intent to apply to use a private insurer to administer Minnesota Paid Leave for Albany Area Schools. The change would shift administrative responsibilities from the state mechanism to a private-plan administrator if approved and accepted through the required application process.
No final board action on either handbook adoption or private-plan selection was recorded on Nov. 12; both items were presented for future board consideration.
