The Board received a report on Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP) local indicators from Executive Director Sarah Notch, who explained that for Priorities 9 and 10 the County Office's role is advisory and supportive rather than directive. Notch said the Foster Youth Services Team coordinates countywide meetings, shares legislative updates and best practices, and assists districts during status changes for foster youth.
Board Member Susan Alvaro asked where responsibility lies for countywide services tied to those priorities and sought clarity on what the County Office measures versus what districts do. Board Member Chelsea Bonini asked whether the Board could more intentionally incorporate foster-youth-focused work into its priorities and invited ideas for deeper involvement. Superintendent Marco A. Che1vez proposed bringing a presentation to the Board on services being provided, emerging county needs, and possible next steps; Bonini agreed that a presentation would help establish a baseline and inform priorities.
