Board leadership opened a special meeting to interview two candidates for the Region 2 vacant school board seat and explained the interview mechanics and next steps. The presiding official and the board secretary said both applicants were verified as residents of Region 2 and that board members had copies of the five identical questions and each candidate's application.
The board secretary told candidates and members that each candidate would receive five questions and that the board would allot 15 minutes per candidate: "Each candidate will receive 5 questions. These are the exact same questions... You'll have an opportunity to record notes for yourself." Officials said the board will consider a nomination at its Aug. 11 committee-of-the-whole meeting at 7:00 p.m. in the Education Center and invited both candidates to return for that discussion.
