Board approves widespread personnel changes and 22 full‑time preschool paraprofessionals under PEA funding
Summary
The board approved multiple resignations, appointments, salary adjustments, retirement payouts and the creation of 22 full‑time paraprofessional positions for the Spruce Street preschool program funded by the NJDOE Preschool Education Aid (PEA).
The July 15 agenda included extensive personnel actions: rescinded retirements, resignations, certificated and non-certificated appointments with salary and effective dates, leaves of absence, transfers and retirement payouts. The meeting also approved retirement payout totals for a list of departing employees.
In a separate resolution, the Board approved twenty-two full-time paraprofessional positions for the Spruce Street preschool program for 2026–27, to be funded under the New Jersey Department of Education's Preschool Education Aid (PEA). The resolution specifies salary and seniority listings and instructs that any future vacancy among these full-time paraprofessionals will be filled as a part-time paraprofessional position rather than a full-time slot.
The board approved the Superintendent's personnel recommendations by recorded vote. The personnel slate covered certificated hires (for example, new health and physical education hires effective September 1, 2026) and non-certificated positions including security specialists and long-term transfers. Several stipend and contract corrections and professional-development authorizations were also approved.
