He said the lowest bidder, Sicoli, would not be able to commit to the work; RB Mac was the next-lowest bidder and was recommended because it was likely able to complete the work near the start of the school year. A significant portion of the cost was tied to a shade structure; the district plans to retain several existing trees and to consider a shade structure at a later date.
The motion to accept RB Mac Construction Co. Inc.'s bid for $247,000 was made by Mrs. Gow, seconded by J. Sweeney, Jr., and passed unanimously (Yes: 6, No: 0).
