Commission approves new city hall plan without police department

The Killdeer City Commission voted to proceed with construction of a new city hall that does not include a police department portion. Commissioner Greg Nordsven moved “to move forward with just a new city hall without the police department portion,” a motion seconded by Commissioner Chris Fenstermaker and approved on a roll-call vote with Commissioners Fair, Nordsven, Fenstermaker and Commission President Logan Wallace voting aye and Commissioner Hanson voting nay.
Following the vote, the commission appointed Commissioners Chris Fenstermaker and Greg Nordsven to the building committee to guide the project. Commissioner Fenstermaker’s motion to appoint the two commissioners passed unanimously. The decision narrows the project's scope to city administrative functions; the commission did not adopt design or funding specifics in this session and left implementation details to the building committee.
