Capital project behind schedule; board approves change orders and bids

Superintendent J. Reimer said the 2022 Capital Improvement Project is behind schedule though staff are moving into ready classrooms; the board approved two change orders totaling $29,903 for mechanical and electrical revisions and accepted capital outlay bid recommendations.
Superintendent J. Reimer told the board the 2022 Capital Improvement Project is further behind than previously thought but continued work is allowing staff to move into completed classrooms while punchlist items and remaining work continue.
"The CAD Lab is expected to be finished in 1.5 weeks," Reimer reported, and he said the Library Media Center still requires carpet and lighting work. The courtyard renovation started the day of the meeting and its middle-September completion target was reiterated. The Yorker House received SHPO approval and the district will pursue remaining work to complete that project by November. The minutes further record the Board approved a $16,472 change order for Nairy Mechanical and a $13,431 change order for CIR Electrical as part of Phase 2 work; both motions carried 7–0.
The Board also accepted bid recommendations from SEI Design Group for Capital Outlay Phase I (2023) and Phase II (2024) with Fire Safety Systems, Inc., and accepted a donation of football equipment from Barker-Royhart Youth Football.
