City Secretary Brandy Brown told the council that "Proposition H... would have authorized the city to issue bonds for $3,400,000 for the animal shelter and animal control facilities. That one did fail." She reported Proposition I for parks and recreation ($11,500,000) also failed and that "the 18,700,000 general obligation bonds for street improvements. That one did pass."
Mayor Pro Tem Benford moved to approve the canvass resolution for the bond election and the presiding mayor seconded. The council recorded two "aye" votes and the presiding officer declared Resolution R-42-25 approved, thereby certifying the bond results.
With Proposition J approved, the city may proceed with planning for street improvements funded by the $18.7 million general obligation bonds; the transcript records certification but does not record subsequent program decisions, timelines, or financing steps. The council adjourned at 7:18 p.m.
