Solomon Peters was elected president of the Claymont City Board of Education for 2026 during the organizational meeting on Jan. 12, 2026. The board voted to elect Peters after nominations; the roll-call vote recorded four yes votes and one abstention (Peters himself). Treasurer Kim Beckley administered the Oath of Office for President to Peters following the election.
Martha Campbell was later elected vice-president by unanimous roll call. Board members who voted on the leadership elections included Mrs. Host, Ms. Campbell, Mrs. Grandison, Mr. Peters and Mrs. Wolf. The leadership votes concluded the board's formal reorganization for the calendar year.
The results place Peters and Campbell in leadership roles for the district's board work in 2026. The meeting record shows the board moved promptly from nominations to vote, and the oath administrations were performed by Treasurer Kim Beckley as documented in the meeting minutes.
