Ms. J. Duerr reviewed the State Performance Plan under IDEA and emphasized Indicator 3 (assessment participation for students with IEPs). She said too few students with disabilities participated in statewide assessments in the referenced period and that participation affects federal funding and accuracy of district results.
Duerr described targeted ELA intervention groups formed from 2023–24 assessment data and said the district must have at least one teacher or administrator attend training offered by the West Regional Partnership Center (Erie 1 BOCES) aligned to supporting students with disabilities and ELA. Barker is categorized as a district in need of assistance, year 1, she said; the district will continue to collect and report data.
