Claymont City Board approves routine business, discusses calendar and tax bill updates

The Claymont City School District Board of Education convened its regular meeting on Monday, Jan. 12, 2026, at 6:09 p.m. in the Administrative Office with Mr. Peters presiding. Present were board members Ms. Campbell, Mrs. Grandison, Mrs. Host and Mrs. Wolf, along with Superintendent Brian Rentsch and district administrators.
On a roll call vote the board approved the meeting agenda, accepted the treasurer's December financial report and payment of bills, and approved routine minutes and personnel recommendations brought forward by the superintendent. The board also accepted a $5,000 donation from the Uhrichsville Eagles for the Intermediate School “Girls with Pearls” program. Administrators updated the board on a set of state property tax reform bills recently signed by Gov. Mike DeWine (HB124, HB129, HB186, HB309 and HB335).
The board discussed draft options for the 2026–27 school calendar; Mr. Rentsch said the calendar committee reviewed two calendars and will reconvene to consider additional options. The meeting ended with approvals of classified substitutes and adjournment at 6:39 p.m. The next regular board meeting is scheduled for Feb. 9, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. at the Claymont Administrative Office.
