Board approves key personnel moves, including new director of special education

Superintendent Dr. Reimer said the search was a long, rigorous process and welcomed Mrs. Duerr to the district; the motion passed 6-0.
The board also approved multiple other personnel actions by motion, including part-time custodial hires, mentor and interim business-administrator appointments, lifeguard hires, winter-sports coaches and volunteer assistants, and club advisor and community volunteer appointments. All personnel motions on the consent agenda were approved unanimously.
Why it matters: Leadership in special education is a material operational change and affects program direction and compliance; coach and volunteer approvals impact extracurricular program delivery.
What’s next: Mrs. Duerr’s probationary service begins Nov. 7 and the district will onboard her into the Director role; other approved hires will begin in accordance with the dates listed in the personnel packets.
