Barker reviews drills, safety training and a new progressive-discipline framework

Principal Dr. M. Love told the board Homecoming events were "super fun" and thanked staff and community partners for support. Dr. Love distributed a two-sided, grade-separated progressive-discipline framework drafted by the Behavior Data Task Force for teachers to use and provide feedback. She said the framework is intended to align disciplinary responses with the Code of Conduct, provide tiered responses, and allow acceleration for serious violations while supporting student accountability and restorative approaches.
Why it matters: Safety drills and consistent behavior supports are core operational matters that affect student safety, daily routines and instructional time. The district emphasized communication to families before drills and staff training resources.
