Health department flagged mold at CW Hall kitchen; crew installed FRP to address it

The Infrastructure Committee was told on Jan. 27 that the health department had identified mold problems over Ortega's kitchen at CW Hall, prompting cleanup and material upgrades.
'The health department had come down on (the kitchen) ... so we've had Travis several times go in there and clean it and paint it. We've installed FRP. That is fiberglass reinforced plastic. It looks really nice, and that should take care of that problem,' Maintenance Director Jim Wysong said, describing steps taken to address the department's concerns.
Wysong also noted that a contractor performed indoor-air-quality work at other sites and will provide a report after completing the final day of work; the committee asked staff to keep the health department's guidance and contractor findings in the project file.
