Jenny McAdams, representing the Monterey County Business Council, told the county briefing that Car Week is one of the county's most important economic events for small businesses and urged preparation to capture visitor spending.
McAdams said businesses should consider extending hours, preparing staff, and promoting products ahead of and during Car Week. "Car Week provides an important opportunity, to our small businesses to increase their revenues, introduce their businesses to new visitors, and also build that repeat customer relationship," she said. She did not provide a total count of small businesses or specific revenue estimates during the briefing but offered to follow up with data on request. McAdams pointed businesses to the Business Council's resources (www.mcbc.biz, phone (831) 216-3000) for support and advice.
The council emphasized collaboration with county agencies and traffic tools to help workforce and customers navigate the region during busy periods.
