The board opened the public hearing required to apply for a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) administered by HUD to support sewer upgrades in the Hamlet of Redwood. Town staff explained that Redwood qualifies as low‑to‑moderate income based on an earlier survey and that the project would replace grinder pumps, refresh sand beds, and repair dosing tanks. "So this grant is for improvements and upgrades to the Redwood sewer system, replacing old grinder pumps, replacing the sand in the sand beds, doing some repairs to the dosing tanks," staff said.
No public comments were offered during the hearing and the board moved to close the public hearing. Town staff noted that the application could request up to $1,500,000 and that the overall project estimate could be up to $2,500,000; follow-up engineering and funding details will be addressed during the grant application process.
