Two members of the public spoke during the May 14 comment period. Marty Hayes introduced himself as a resident of Harrison who is retired and returning to the area; he said he recently purchased property on Skyline and expressed his desire to become more involved in the community.
Kayleen Walker urged the council to thoroughly review the history of the 1998 Local Improvement District (LID) before voting on a pending amendment that would make property owners responsible for septic pump-outs. Walker said she encountered information indicating the council had at one point considered having the city cover pump-out costs because of LID assessments; the council later asked staff for additional historical documentation as part of the item’s follow-up.
