Field Number 1 closure will limit open play; Field 2 to be reserved for MICE activities

During the turf replacement, Field Number 1 will be closed; Field Number 2 will remain open but primarily reserved for MICE practices and some activities may relocate to the Mebane Arts and Community Center (MAC) Grassfields or MAC Baseball and Softball Complex.
Aaron Davis, a staff member, said that "During construction, Field Number 1 will be completely closed to the public." He advised park users seeking open play to use the MAC Grass Fields or the MAC Baseball and Softball Complex during the project.
Davis said Field Number 2 will remain open but that, because space will be limited, it will be primarily reserved for MICE practices, training sessions and games. "Some MICEA activities may also be temporarily relocated to the Mebane Arts and Community Center, a k a the MAC Grassfields, or the MAC Baseball and Softball Complex," he said.
Davis warned that construction vehicles and heavy equipment will enter from the south side of the fields and may occasionally use portions of the walking path, and he urged visitors to stay alert and follow posted signage. He also said contractor staging will be located in the overflow grass parking lot near the tree line.
