Former Commissioner Larry Johnson honored at Cedar Grove reopening; he heads to state senate

Wayne Smith, vice president of Metro South CID, presented a plaque recognizing Larry Johnson’s years of service and leadership in advancing the Cedar Grove Bridge project. Smith read the plaque citation and offered thanks on behalf of the Connell Area Business Association and Metro South CID.
"Thank you for your 22 years of unwavering commitment, untiring devotion, visionary leadership, and outstanding service," Smith said during the presentation. Johnson accepted the recognition and told those gathered he will continue working at the state level to bring resources back to DeKalb and neighboring counties.
Johnson thanked the community and urged continued vigilance and support for county projects as he transitions to his new role in the state senate.
