Speakers at the ceremony repeatedly credited external partners for the project's completion. The County CEO named Georgia Department of Transportation, Norfolk Southern, Metro South CID, C.W. Matthews and Michael Baker International among those whose coordination and work were essential to finishing the bridge.
Larry Kaiser of Metro South CID praised the bridge’s design and urged continued infrastructure investment in the CID. "This bridge is so beautiful. It reminds me of bridges in Dunwoody," Kaiser said. Wayne Smith, vice president of Metro South CID, presented a plaque recognizing Larry Johnson for his leadership in advancing the project, thanking him for years of service.
Officials also praised DeKalb County public-works staff and private utilities for complex coordination during construction, including water-line work and utility relocations near the rail crossing.
