Superintendent J. Henry reported July 14 that Heartland Mechanical Contractors (HMC) is progressing well on Phase III of the district's HVAC project. "Heartland Mechanical Contractors (HMC) is progressing well on Phase III of the HVAC project," Henry told the board, noting that old rooftop units have been removed and replaced and that crane operations were completed the same day.
Henry said the controls subcontractor and ceiling contractor were working behind HMC to prepare rooms to be released back to custodial staff and that, as of the meeting, the contractor remained on schedule. The update indicated the district expects rooms affected by the rooftop unit replacements to be returned to normal operations as subcontractor work completes.
The board did not take a separate action on the facilities update; Henry included the report as part of the superintendent's regular update to the board.
