Council voted to unappoint Lake City Law as the city attorney after a motion from Councilmember Josephine Prophet, seconded by Councilmember Will Butler. The unappointment passed on a 4 AYE, 2 NAY roll-call vote.
The council then considered appointing Vernon & Weeks as the city attorney. Councilmember Will Butler moved to appoint Vernon & Weeks and Council President Josephine Prophet seconded, but the motion failed on a 2 AYE, 4 NAY vote. Following the vote, the mayor tasked the Administration Committee with drafting a newspaper advertisement for the city attorney position and with reviewing applicable Idaho and city code requirements for publishing the advertisement.
