The Maynard Select Board voted to allow the Midland Business Alliance to hold a downtown sidewalk sale on Mason and Main streets on Saturday, Aug. 22, 2026, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., contingent on adherence to federal, state and local public-health and safety guidelines and ADA clearance.
Casey Davis, a downtown merchant who said “I own a little Thai downtown,” described the event as a way for small businesses to move inventory and capture back-to-school traffic. The board discussed logistics and a possible rain date and approved the application in a roll-call vote.
The board authorized digital signatures for the approval and reminded applicants that sidewalks must maintain the 36-inch minimum ADA passage. Board members asked staff to ensure applicants provide required documentation before the event.
