The Harrison City Council approved its consent calendar at the Sept. 12 meeting, including approval of monthly bills and the minutes from the Aug. 8 and Aug. 22 meetings. Josephine Prophet moved to approve the consent calendar and Will Butler seconded.
Roll call produced an even split among council members. "Mayor Wanda Irish broke the tie by voted AYE," the minutes state, and the consent calendar was adopted. The minutes record votes as Will Butler AYE, Josephine Prophet AYE, Joe Cornell NAYE, John Gray NAYE, Debbie Lockhart AYE, Charlie Shutt NAYE before the mayor's tie-breaking vote.
The approved consent items were listed on the meeting agenda and recorded in the minutes; no substantive amendments were made during discussion. The council moved on to other items on the published agenda after the vote.
