Shannon Lovelace White, a Benicia resident, used the meeting's public-comment period to describe Molly's Angels and a local program called "Molly Cares," which the speaker said operates in Solano and Napa counties and is funded by the Area Agency on Aging. She said the program provides no-cost friendly-calling and referral services to socially isolated older adults and is enrolling both participants and volunteers.
"My name is Shannon Lovelace White, and I'm here just to provide some information about an organization called Molly's Angels," she said, and offered materials to the city and to first responders for distribution. Council members asked whether the organization coordinates with county paratransit and other programs, and White said Molly's Angels works with Carquinez Village, the Solano paratransit coordinating council and local fire and police to identify needs and referral opportunities.
The council thanked the speaker and encouraged staff and council members with relevant contacts to follow up on potential partnerships and information-sharing.
