The Sesser-Valier Community Unit School District No. 196 Board of Education voted unanimously June 16 to approve its consent agenda, which included minutes from May meetings, the treasurer’s report, bills totaling $626,548.55 and salaries of $457,207.70, a set of intergovernmental agreements and the FY25 amended district budget.
Superintendent J. Henry listed the items added to the consent agenda before the vote. “The FY25 amended district budget has been finalized using the most up-to-date expenditure and revenue estimates,” Henry said, summarizing the financial status that preceded the motion. Lance moved to approve the consent agenda; Rounds seconded. Roll call voting was seven yeas and zero nays, and the president declared the motion carried.
The consent package included approval of an Illinois School District Agency Agreement and a Workers’ Compensation Self-Insurance Trust Intergovernmental Cooperative Pooling Agreement, adoption of the Fiscal Year 2026 lunch price schedule, district depository and prevailing wage resolutions, and formal adoption of the amended FY25 budget. The board record lists the specific bill and salary totals approved during the motion.
Board members did not request further amendments during the public vote. The approval formalizes the amended FY25 spending and allows staff to proceed with the fiscal close-out as presented.
