Dickerson told the board she is developing a small pontoon tour business and described limited, narrated trips. "My name is Amanda Dickerson, as you see. . . My boat would only be taking 6, at max," she said, adding that she is pursuing required permitting through the Lake George Park Commission and obtaining liability insurance listing the town as additionally insured. The board approved a motion to move the request forward and suggested a trial fee this year (the board discussed a $150 fee as temporary).
Residents and board members pressed for clearer rules about parking, nearby charter operators and licensing. One resident warned the steamer dock area has become congested and said, "It's becoming a real cluster down there," urging limits on long‑term parking. Board members asked staff to develop parameters for dock use, to contact charter operators, and to verify licensing and vessel requirements before longer‑term approval.
The vote to allow Dickerson to continue with permitting and paperwork carried. The board directed staff to return with proposed operating conditions (parking limits, insurance proof and any fee structure) at a subsequent meeting.
