Library director says programs are returning and promotes December book sale

Genesis, the library director, told the commission that library services are being restored after a period of curtailed programming and that staff recruitment is nearly complete. “We are still in the process of resuming various programs that have been on hiatus,” Genesis said, and described returning favorites (stay-and-play toddler sessions, escape rooms) and new offerings (a monthly Steam Powered kids program, a Winterfest celebration and a Jane Austen ball). Genesis noted staff participation at the California Library Association conference and identified Sarah Stimpson, Sandy Bridal and John Velasquez as staff who took part in the conference.
Genesis encouraged residents to attend the library’s largest annual book sale on Dec. 5–6 and said proceeds go to the Friends of the Library. In response to questions from commissioners, Genesis confirmed the library accepts donations and is finalizing recruitment for its remaining librarian vacancy.
