During the regular meeting’s public‑comment period on July 15, Midvale resident Pam Squires asked the council to pursue construction of a sound wall along I‑215 adjacent to her property. Squires said she has lived at the property since 2005 and described noise levels "up to 85 decibels," saying that the neighboring sound wall stops short of her property and that nearby condos received a 16‑foot wall. She asked the council to pursue a similar 16‑foot wall, noting that daytime noise prevents her from enjoying her yard except late at night.
Mayor Dustin Gettel thanked Squires for her comments and said he had spoken with Senator Reibe, who indicated the State Legislature would contact the Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) about the matter. Separately, resident Sue Armitage used public comment to promote Midvale Monday movies, saying admission is $1 and the next film on July 21 will be "Ferris Bueller's Day Off."
