The board classified the action as Type I for review and scheduled a public hearing on Sept. 10, 2025 (public notice to include separate hearing times that evening).
To pursue funding, the board approved a resolution authorizing Municipal Solutions Inc. to prepare applications for funds under the New York State Water Infrastructure Improvement Act (WEA) administered by the New York State Environmental Facilities Corporation, and authorized "Sean Hogue in his role as town supervisor" to execute the application and supporting documents.
Board members discussed coordination with the Town of Albion, which purchases Barre water, and the importance of addressing pressure and supply deficiencies. The grant‑authorization resolution passed by voice vote.
Next steps: the town will proceed with grant application preparation and hold the Sept. 10 public hearing; further engineering and budgeting will follow pending grant outcomes.
