Sam Lash of CVRPC told the commission that Williamstown has been selected to take part in a state Municipal Climate Planning Pilot and that CVRPC had adapted the large guide into chapter‑specific materials tailored to the town's existing Town Plan. "So, on the 1st paper – WHAT: you were selected to join the State Pilot Program to test the Municipal Planning Climate along with Essex Jct.," Lash said, and she distributed excerpted guide chapters and a proposed workflow and schedule.
Lash proposed integrating the pilot prompts into Williamstown’s Town Plan to meet Enhanced Energy Planning standards and to update the town's expired Hazard Mitigation Plan. She outlined a proposed calendar of activities: a community engagement kickoff at the May 16 Memorial Day event, an early‑May hazard identification and vulnerability scoring session (requested to include the Town Manager and Road Foreman), a July focus on energy and enhanced plan standards, a special mapping session, and an August emphasis on housing. Lash offered to provide worksheets via Google Docs and as paper copies and asked commissioners to review and provide honest feedback.
