Council updates fee schedule for waste trailers and bowery rentals; one negative vote

The council voted to approve Ordinance 25-07 on May 6 to amend the consolidated fee schedule for waste trailer rental, bowery rental, and code noncompliance fees. Public Works Director Jon Andersen presented the item and provided a handout illustrating options; the council approved changes including a limit of one roll-off rental per year per address and two trailer rentals per year per address, an increase in bowery fees to $150 for residents with a $75 refund and $200 for non-residents with a $75 refund, and adding a $100 flood plain permit.
The motion carried with Council Member Jeanette Smyth voting no. Mayor Russell Porter called the roll and the ordinance was approved despite the single dissenting vote.
