Council hears updates on cemetery, town shop, roads and equipment plans

Public Works and cemetery staff reported multiple small capital and maintenance steps at the July 2 meeting. Cemetery staff said a concrete pad was poured to hold spoils from graves and help organize topsoil; staff also reported a new concrete pad at the shop around which blocks will be placed to store road salt, freeing indoor space. Town Hall stucco repair estimates were requested and the mayor indicated the formal bid process will be used when the project is approved.
Mike Radke said the town's plow truck is limited in use because it is not four-wheel drive and the town has sought an estimate from Signature Trucking to add a dump bed so the vehicle could be used year-round. The mayor also described a plan to move the maintenance shed to the cemetery and to study construction of a new building with a two-bay garage, offices and meeting space; no construction contract or budget was approved at the July 2 meeting.
