Heritage Committee readies Pioneer Day; town seeks state grant for park upgrades

The committee expects additional sign-ups closer to the event; the next Heritage Committee meeting is scheduled for July 8, 2026.
Separately, Mayor Doug Clements said he is working with Nancy O'Toole on an application to a State of Utah grant program valued at $11 million statewide; the town's proposed list for park maintenance and access improvements totaled about $85,000 and included pavilion roof repair, jogging trails, restroom access upgrades and crosswalk painting at the school intersection. The mayor noted the grant requires funds to be spent by mid next year if awarded.
