Audience members asked, "Why do we need a revote?" Selectboard members said several procedural steps were missed when the article was presented at March's town meeting and have now been corrected. Those steps, the board said, included posting the warning in five locations instead of the normal three, running the warning in the local paper for the required number of weeks, adopting a special resolution documenting the town's need to seek a bond and hiring bond counsel to represent the town to the Vermont Bond Bank before application.
Road foreman Dave Wilder confirmed operational details for pre-project maintenance: "at least one pass would be made on all town roads before the crew got busy working on the project," he said. Selectboard members told residents the town highway crew was chosen to carry out the rehab work in an effort to keep costs low. The meeting closed with a motion to adjourn at 6:22 p.m.
