The Williamstown Cemetery Commission approved a contract to repair 25 headstones in the Village Cemetery during its April 23 meeting. Susan Lyons moved to authorize the work and Matt Walker seconded; the motion was approved with all present agreeing.
Joe Mangan, who offered to perform the work, told commissioners, "I can do 25 stones for $1,325.00." The commission noted there is $2,000 remaining in the stone replacement/repair budget and $2,000 left in the maintenance budget, and recorded the contractor authorization for follow-up at the next meeting.
