Commissioners cite oversaturation and late‑night risks in 7‑Eleven spirits proposal

Commissioners asked staff whether the proposal’s hours (6 a.m. to 2 a.m. alcohol sales within a 24‑hour store) and proximity to entertainment venues could increase loitering and DUI risk; staff and the applicant cited decline in reported incidents at the site (6 in 2023, 8 in 2024, 5 in 2025) and the ABC licensing framework. The commission incorporated concerns about license saturation into the denial findings.
