Wasco Police Department held a badge-pinning and oath ceremony during the council meeting as Chief Mora announced the department has reached full staffing and introduced new officers and promoted personnel. "We have reached an important milestone for the Wasco Police Department, and that is that we're fully staffed," Chief Mora said, and the council recessed briefly for photos and the administration of the oath of office.
Janet Tapia, district representative for State Senator Melissa Hurtado, presented certificates of recognition and praised the department's approach to community policing. Cole Quesada, representing Congressman David Valadao, brought congressional certificates and thanked the officers for answering the call to public service. The ceremony included family members and allied-agency representatives and concluded with a short recess for photographs.
